Addison Group is partnering with a growing legal organization seeking a detail-oriented Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join their team. This role supports a fast-paced legal department with a high-volume caseload and offers strong potential for long-term placement.
Job Description:
This position provides administrative and legal support to attorneys, particularly within the bankruptcy division. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing over 150 files, using legal software platforms, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare bankruptcy-related documents, including proofs of claim and pleadings.
Review detailed financial and payment histories.
Maintain accuracy across internal tracking systems.
Coordinate and communicate with attorneys, clients, third parties, and external counsel.
Regularly update legal software platforms (VendorScape, LPS, etc.).
Serve as a key point of contact for case-related communication.
Handle large case volumes with efficiency and attention to deadlines.
Provide general administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a legal administrative or assistant role.
Prior experience with bankruptcy filings and proof of claim preparation.
Familiarity with VendorScape, LPS, or similar legal software tools.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle high-volume workloads.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
