Our client, a highly regarded nonprofit organization, is seeking a Budget Accountant to support their financial operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on managing budgets, streamlining processes, and collaborating with a team to achieve impactful goals. Key Responsibilities: + Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and reconciliation of program and organizational budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. + Coordinate grant and funding budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure compliance with donor and organizational guidelines. + Review financial data for accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed. + Prepare and distribute monthly budget reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders. + Collaborate with program managers and leadership to empower data-driven decision-making. + Provide support during audits, including preparing documentation related to budgets and grant compliance. + Assist in analyzing cost variance reports and making recommendations for budget adjustments. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. + 2-3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related roles (nonprofit experience is a plus). + Strong proficiency in budgeting software and tools, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis). + Familiarity with nonprofit-specific financial standards, including fund accounting and grant tracking, is highly desirable. + Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. + Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams.
