Imagine starting your day knowing every mile you drive helps safeguard people and property. At Viking, we don’t just move materials—we deliver peace of mind. With more than a century of doing things the right way, our team is grounded in innovation, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

A Day in the Role

You’ll load, secure, and drive company vehicles in full compliance with licensing and DOT regulations. Your destinations range from customer shops to active jobsites where our finished goods become part of critical fire protection systems. You’ll assess conditions on arrival, unload safely, and collect signatures that confirm successful delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow maps or written directions to reach customer shops and jobsites on time.
  • Evaluate jobsite conditions and execute safe unloading procedures.
  • Obtain valid signatures on delivery documentation for every stop.
  • Operate a boom crane or other truck-mounted equipment when needed.
  • Complete daily truck inspections and driver logs.
  • Adhere to all DOT and licensing requirements at all times.
  • Adapt to off-hour runs—nights, weekends, or early mornings—as required.
  • Lift and stage boxes of material for shipment.
  • Use available equipment to prep crates and boxes for loading.
  • Load and unload pipe and material from flatbed and box trailers.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Tackle additional tasks to support the team and customer needs as directed by the warehouse lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager.

What You Bring

  • CDL‑B license plus equipment certifications (crane, industrial truck).
  • At least 6 months in a prior commercial driving role.
  • Comfort with basic keypad/keyboard input.
  • Experience with RF/barcoding technology is a plus.
  • 1 year thriving in a multitask, time-sensitive environment.
  • Solid arithmetic with whole numbers and decimals.

You should be proficient in:

  • DOT Medical Card
  • Current CDL License
