Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a IT Manager in the Elk Grove Village IL area

Salary Range: 100k to 115k

This is a full time direct hire position with benefits package:

The IT Manager is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all technology operations at our U.S. manufacturing sites in Elk Grove Village, IL, and Fontana, CA. This position plays a critical strategic role in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems that underpin production, logistics, and core business functions. The successful candidate will bring expertise in IT infrastructure, industrial automation, cybersecurity, and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily IT operations, encompassing network infrastructure, industrial IT, hardware, software, and end-user support.
  • Manage and maintain key manufacturing systems, including ERP, SCADA, and PLC integrations.
  • Safeguard connectivity between Operational Technology (OT) and IT networks, enforcing segmentation and cybersecurity standards.
  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and the Global IT team to advance automation projects and resolve technical challenges.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of OT assets, including firmware updates, patching, and planning for obsolescence.
  • Align technology strategies with business objectives in collaboration with Global IT and plant leadership.
  • Work closely with the Global IT Security team to implement and uphold cybersecurity measures across all platforms.
  • Drive IT initiatives, such as system upgrades, technology deployments, and automation enhancements.
  • Handle vendor partnerships and contracts for IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Design and execute plans for security, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Mentor and supervise on-site IT personnel and external contractors.
  • Monitor system health, diagnose issues, and reduce operational downtime.
  • Uphold compliance with internal IT policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
  • Develop and update documentation for configurations of both new and legacy systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 2 years in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • In-depth understanding of industrial IT systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
  • Strong expertise in network administration, cybersecurity, and server operations.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive independently and as part of a team in a high-energy setting.
  • Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems.
  • Proven track record with firewalls, routers, and switches (Meraki and Fortinet experience a plus).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Rapid adaptability to learn and master diverse technology systems.
  • Solid grasp of security protocols, IT infrastructure, networking, and fundamental database elements.
  • Experience bridging OT data with enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, BI tools).
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Windows 10/11
    • Windows Server 20122025
    • Active Directory
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill in juggling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines to design and sustain IT solutions.
  • Proficiency in explaining intricate technical concepts to non-experts.
  • Quick and efficient troubleshooting of technology issues.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Certifications such as ITIL or PMP.
  • A proactive curiosity for exploring emerging systems.
  • Report-writing capabilities using tools like Power BI or SQL.
  • Advanced networking expertise, including switches, routers, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
