Facility: Ann Berdahl Hall Building Location: Sioux Falls, SD Address: 1503 W 18th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105, USA Shift: 8 Hours – Day Shifts Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Job Summary Provide leadership and direction for the quality and patient experience management service to assure the provision of cost-effective quality improvement services that are consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Provide oversight of quality, performance improvement, and patient experience activities, utilizing knowledge of patient care delivery principles, patient care and experience standards, and quality improvement principles to impact outcomes of care delivery. Demonstrate familiarity with the electronic medical record (EMR) and clinical performance management systems (CPMS). Maintain quality net security access for applicable Sanford facilities for data submission. Make data‑driven, independent, and timely decisions when circumstances warrant. Effectively engage frontline staff, providers, leadership, and regulatory agencies. Possess knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, with the ability to collect and organize detailed information, seek new knowledge, and embrace new responsibilities and change. Actively participate in task forces, committees, staff meetings, and other departmental initiatives to implement goals, assess outcomes of improvement initiatives, review performance assessments, recommend process improvements, and provide guidance. Collaborate to recruit, select, retain, and leverage talent across the department. Train new staff and develop existing staff, ensuring understanding of laws and regulations related to healthcare practices. Foster a collaborative culture, turning difficult interactions into productive ones. Mentor and coach team members, serving as the subject matter expert on process improvement, patient experience standards, and quality programs. Dedicate time to Sanford patient safety strategies and culture, including SAFE leader training, coaching, and huddle board leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in business administration, nursing, or another healthcare‑related discipline required. Preferred: graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Minimum of five years’ experience in quality, patient safety, patient experience, accreditation, infection prevention, and/or process improvement. Prior leadership/management experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent preferred. If a licensed RN, requires an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice and/or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
