The Mechanic Technician I under general supervision, performs preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs a variety of mechanical equipment relative to their assigned location. Pay Rate: $31.00 - $33.00/hour, depending on experience Assignment Length: 6-month contract with the high possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and other factors. Work Type: Onsite - Port Arthur, TX 77640 Shift Details: Day shift | 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Responsibilities: Perform function testing to verify equipment readiness after maintenance. Proficiently understand and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and prints. Ensure adherence to and accurate maintenance of data within Halliburton's system of record. Follow specific and detailed work processes within the Halliburton Management System (HMS) during daily job activities. Perform own work and assist others as directed. Ensure all duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Contribute to cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations through correctly performed job tasks. Understand that consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of experience in a mechanical field. Technical school certificate preferred. Certifications: Valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and manlift certification. Proficient in tubing fitting. Capable of working independently while adhering to all safety rules and policies. Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings, such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). Completion of ISTC Safety Essentials. Completion of Motiva Port Arthur site-specific training courses. Experience using a variety of tools and machinery, including tubing cutters, tubing benders, reamers, drills, band saws, and hand tools.
