Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Phlebotomist to join our clinical research team focused on COVID-19 studies. This role does not require prior research experience — only a strong background in phlebotomy and patient care. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection in compliance with protocol guidelines and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures on study participants
• Label and process specimens according to study protocol and site SOPs
• Ensure accurate documentation of collections in source documents and lab forms
• Prepare specimens for courier pickup and maintain proper chain of custody
• Monitor and maintain phlebotomy supplies and cleanliness of collection area
• Provide a calm, supportive patient experience during specimen collection
• Follow universal precautions and adhere to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with study coordinators and clinical staff to ensure smooth study flow

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Phlebotomy Certification Program
• Current certification (CPT I or CPT II) preferred but not required in all states
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical, hospital, or outpatient setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict protocols

Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
