Job Description

Smart4Chemicals are recruiting for a skilled Process Control Engineer for a leading chemical manufacturer in Pasadena to support the Process Control Manager in managing the site's Distributed Control Systems (DCS), historians, and PLCs. This role involves troubleshooting, system optimization, and project execution to enhance plant performance, safety, and reliability.

To be considered for this Process Control Engineer position, you will be degree educated in Chemical Engineering or closely related subject, along with previous working knowledge of DeltaV and Allen-Bradley within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program and troubleshoot assigned DCS/Systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance plant performance and reliability.
  • Design and oversee engineering for DCS/Systems capital projects.
  • Perform regular system health checks, including hardware integrity and performance monitoring.
  • Stay up to date with system software updates and provide necessary training.
  • Work with system TAC to resolve DCS system performance issues.
  • Provide DCS training for engineers and board operators.
  • Monitor and maintain system backups and data restoration processes.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the DCS Manager.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of DCS programming in a chemical process environment, with a good working knowledge of DeltaV and Allen-Bradley
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in DeltaV, Allen-Bradley, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.
