RPA Business Analyst
3-month Contract to Hire
100% Onsite in Waukesha, WI
This role partners with business teams, IT staff, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive automation efforts that reduce manual work, increase process consistency, and improve efficiency. The RPA Business Analyst gathers and defines automation requirements, evaluates current workflows, and supports the successful implementation of automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business units to understand automation needs and gather functional and technical requirements.
- Review existing business processes to identify candidates for automation and recommend enhancements.
- Produce thorough documentation including Process Design Documents (PDDs), Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and user stories to guide development efforts.
- Serve as a liaison between business teams and RPA developers to ensure successful delivery of automation solutions.
- Participate in functional testing and validation of automated processes to ensure quality and alignment with business goals.
- Support end-user adoption by providing guidance, training, and documentation for implemented solutions.
- Help remove roadblocks and keep automation initiatives on track by working closely with development and project teams.
- Continuously evaluate and improve automation strategies, providing recommendations for future process optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in an RPA, automation, or digital transformation environment.
- Experience working with RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Familiarity with agile practices, including writing user stories, sprint planning, and leading or participating in Scrum ceremonies.
- Experience gathering business requirements and applying best practices in automation and process optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Systems or related discipline.
- Background in analyzing and interpreting data to identify risks or recommend improvements.
- Business Analyst certifications (such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent).
- RPA-focused certifications (e.g., UiPath Business Analyst Professional/Associate).

- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage several projects or requests simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Skilled communicator who can effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and business users.
- Strong written documentation and presentation skills.
- Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and proposing effective solutions.
- Comfortable working with IT best practices for documentation, implementation, and support.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and APIs is a plus.
- Understanding of integration strategies, agile workflows, and data governance concepts.
