Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a busy Level III OB unit, requiring a WA or Compact RN license and 2 years of L&D and Postpartum experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit within a Level II Trauma Center
• Level III Obstetrical Unit with a high patient volume (400+ births in the summer)
• Care for laboring mothers and postpartum patients
• Expected to float to Postpartum and similar units as needed
• Day shift schedule: 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week, generally 06:30–19:00
• Weekend shifts are typically every other weekend, but frequency may increase to accommodate scheduling needs
• Epic EMR system is used and experience is required
• No call requirements
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive care throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process
• Must be able to adapt quickly in a busy unit and offer support to a team with less tenured core staff
• Three days of orientation are provided during the first week
• Floating between facilities or units within skill set is expected
• Required to work at least 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• Scrub color of choice allowed, except no reddish orange
• Free parking is provided by the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active WA or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum required
• Must provide a minimum of 2 supervisory references from comparable settings within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former perm staff must have a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler
