\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
\n• 13-week assignment duration
\n• Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
\n• Must work two out of three major winter holidays (Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year)
\n• Unable to approve Christmas time off requests
\n• Patient ratio of 1:5 (goal of 1:4)
\n• Care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients with emphasis on post-operative care
\n• Experience with progressive care unit patients and equipment required
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
\n• Epic charting system experience required
\n• Must be able to float within acuity level and occasionally to other PCU or medical-surgical units
\n• Minimum 1 year of experience required
\n• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
\n• Handle chest tubes, IV drips, trachs, PICC lines, and various oxygen modes including CPAP/BiPAP
\n• Manage cardiac drips without titration
\n• 32 hours of orientation provided
\n• May work without CNA support at times

\nThis medical facility operates a specialized 24-bed Progressive Care Unit that serves as the stepdown unit for the Open Heart/Thoracic ICU. The unit focuses on cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, providing advanced monitoring and care with remote telemetry capabilities. The facility maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various other clinical services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
